Battery Recycling and Disposal Adelaide
Metrowaste accept batteries for recycling and disposal in Adelaide. Keeping batteries out of landfill is important as they contain hazardous materials.
Old Batteries can contain harmful materials if not disposed of correctly – these can include cadmium, mercury and lead – however when recycling we can exact valuable materials such as Zinc and Magnesium.
Metrowaste also accept all batteries from mobile phones, laptops, power tools and cameras and other electronics. These should never be disposed of in general waste as the materials can cause significant environmental damage if mixed in with general rubbish and put into landfill.
Metrowaste’s waste transfer station is located just 5 minutes form the Adelaide CBD in Thebarton for easy drop off of all used batteries – we operate a state of the art recycling facility and have a weigh bridge on site.
If you are unsure about the types of batteries you are dealing with please feel free to call and we will be more than happy to explain what we accept and battery recycling and disposal procedures.
